The music of Beethoven spans over generations and has a profound impact in western music history. This year marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birthday, and as part of the Academia celebrations, an in-school painting competition , Coloring Competition and the BeethoFun Quiz will be held. All students are welcome to participate to show their creativity and talent in painting and to encourage students to understand and know more about Beethoven’s life and works. The deadline of the above activities is on 7 December 2020. Details as follow:
Entry requirements:
- Theme: 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birthday
- Design media: either hand-painted (drawing paper/A4 paper) or digital design
- Submission: Hand in the art works directly to the School Office or email to [email protected] before the deadline (When submitting your art work, remember to write your name and level on the back of the work or include the information in your email)
Entry Deadline: 30 November 2020
Result Announcement: 7 December 2020
Prizes: 1st prize (MOP 500)
2nd prize (MOP 300)
3rd prize (MOP 200)
Honorable mentions (MOP 100)
Juries: Director, Music Consultant and teachers of the Academia
Note:
- Works of selected winners may have the opportunity to be printed as the cover of the house programme of the Beethoven’s concert in December.

Coloring Competition (Group A & Group B)
Students:
Group A – Foundation & Elementary 1
Fill in after the story-telling of Beethoven during class time
Group B – Elementary 2, 3, & 4
Non-compulsory, students use their own creativity to complete the coloring independently
Content: Beethoven’s portrait (the portrait can be obtained from the notice board)
Submission: Hand in the art works directly to the School Office before 7 December 2020 (When submitting your art work, remember to write your name and level on the back of the work)
Prizes: All participants will receive a small gift. Excellent works will be posted on the Academia website and notice board
BeethoFUN Quiz (Group A & Group B)
Students:
Group A – Intermediate and Composition II
Group B – Higher, Advanced and Composition I
Questions: About Beethoven’s life and works
(Questionnaires can be obtained from the notice board)
Deadline: Fill in the questionnaires and return it to the School Office before 7 December 2020
Prizes: Students who answer all the questions correctly will receive a small gift.
