Music Foundation
Age group: age 4-5, studying in K2 or K3
This is a course for the very young child who shows an obvious interest and responds well to music, and will benefit from an early start in instrumental tuition. The course includes one individual instrumental lesson and one musicianship lesson each week. The Musicianship lesson provides training in pitch, rhythm and sight-reading. A student who has satisfactorily completed this one-year course will progress directly to the Elementary level.
Elementary
to Advanced Levels
Age group: age 6-21
A progressive course of
music studies including one individual instrumental lesson and one musicianship/integrated
theory lesson (i.e. aural training, musicianship and theory) each week. There are four levels of study: Elementary,
Intermediate, Higher and Advanced, each level taking 3-4 years to complete.
Students at the Advanced Level would have reached a standard that would prepare
them for tertiary studies in music at a university or conservatory.
